There is a race for everyone at A Tri in the Buff. Get your feet wet in the sport of triathlon with a Try-A-Tri or have fun with the Sprint! You can even go long with the Duathlon or Intermediate. Each course will bring a different experience that will leave you smiling as you cross the finish line.
Intermediate
Individual and Relay SWIM 1500 meters | BIKE 25 miles | RUN 6.2 miles
- Time Trial style, this swim features a sandy beach start and is 2 loops
- The water is typically in the 60's to low 70's
- 2 loop bike course that is flat and fast!
- Run course is a mixed terrain of grass and pavement. It is a 2 loop course.
- There will be 2 aid stations on the run course. Athletes will have access to water and electrolyte drink a total of 4 times during the run
Short
Individual and Relay SWIM 750 meters | BIKE 13 miles | RUN 3.1 miles
- Time Trial style, this swim features a sandy beach start and is 1 loop
- The water is typically in the 60's to low 70's
- 1 loop bike couse that is flat and fast!
- Run course is a mixed terrain of grass and pavement. It is a 1 loop course.
- There will be 2 aid stations on the run course. Athletes will have access to water and electrolyte drink.
Duathlon
Individual and Relay RUN 3.1 miles | BIKE 25 miles | RUN 3.1 miles
- Run course is a mixed terrain of grass and pavement. It is a 1 loop course
- 2 loop bike course that is flat and fast!
- There will be 2 aid stations on the run course. Athletes will have access to water and electrolyte drink.
Aquabike
Individual SWIM 1500 meters | BIKE 25 miles

Try-A-Tri
TRY-A-TRI DISTANCE RUN HAS CHANGED FOR 2022 AND BEYOND
Individual SWIM 200 meters | BIKE 13 miles | RUN 1.8 miles
- Time Trial style, this swim features a sandy beach start and is 1 loop
- The water is typically in the 60's to low 70's
- Bike course will be the same as the sprint course.
- Run course is 1 loop on a mixed terrain of grass and pavement.
- There will be 2 aid stations on the run course. Athletes will have access to water and electrolyte drink
Kids
KIDS RACES WILL NOT BE HELD IN 2023
Kids 10 and under     SWIM 50 meters | BIKE 1.5 miles | RUN .65 miles Kids 11 - 15                 SWIM 100 meters | BIKE 3 miles | RUN 1 mile
- Swim starts on the beach and water is shallow for younger group
- Bike couse that is flat and fast!
- Run course is a mixed terrain of grass and pavement
- If your child is a novice and falls into the older category, they may participate with the younger group.
